I've had a few requests to review the Revlon ColorStay. I've not had the chance to use it much, mainly because it is quite high coverage and not something I wear on a day-to-day basis. I was faffing around the house today and thought it would be a prime opportunity to make a post about it.
I bought the "combination/oily" edition of the ColorStay because I've heard that the dry/normal skin version can oxidise quite orangey. I've bought 220 Natural Beige in the old formula and I've find this foundation to be quite pink based and because of that I would imagine this shade might not suit too many people. But overall I think that this foundation definitely deserved the hype it received when it first launched. Considering the coverage, it's quite lightweight and long-wearing on the face which is something I look for in a foundation for a night out. I wouldn't use this on a day-to-day personally, but I think that it would be a good one for people to consider if they did wear a fuller coverage regularly.

After |
I think this before and after shows that it evens out skin tone, conceals a couple of blemishes, brightens and mattes out the skin to a satin finish (Not totally matte but not dewy). I've been wearing it now for about 5 hours and it feels light on the skin and seems to be wearing quite well. I do tend to touch/rub my face a lot. This causes most of my foundations to look patchy but it's not looking too bad! I have used MAC Strobe Lotion underneath. This helps to create a "glowing from within" complexion and stop the foundation from flattening the face too much.

A stunning shot |
The rest of the look was a pink/berry smokey eye and pinky hues on the cheeks and lips. The pink shadows are from the body shop and I really love the colours. The darker rose pink is just so stunning... Pinks like this really make blue eyes pop! I also smudged some NARS Coconut Grove shadow (dark coconut brown) along the lash line and some NARS Kuala Lumpur shadow(violet with gold flecks) through the crease to deepen it a bit.
NARS Laguna and Orgasm to warm up the face. I like to use duo-fibre brushes for both of these products. I find I'm far too pale for them otherwise and they tend to look like I rolled in a mixture of chocolate and Doritos. I then used Posietint underneath a much loved Revlon lipstick in Candy Pink.
Left to Right: Benefit Fake Up, Napoleon Perdis The One, Napoleon Perdis Auto-Pilot, Benefit Posietint, Revlon Lipstick Candy Pink, Revlon ColorStay Natural Beige, MAC Strobe Lotion, MAC brow duo Omega and Cork.
What do you think of this look? Would you wear it?

NARS The Happening |
Yes it gives a really great finish hey, certainly covers redness, would love a comparison to photo finish. Now wondering if PF is really the best for wedding makeup. Finding the perfect mascara or foundation is a never ending quest which leads me to mascaras, do u dare go there. Show us all the discards at least so we know what NOT to buy thanks xxx
